380. | DR043 | Dragon #43 | Are lawful good characters able to use poisoned
weapons? | | Page 107 of the Players Handbook discusses poison in detail,
with the major conclusion being that poison usage should be
severely limited. Ultimately, the decision lies with your DM. |
381. | DR127 | Dragon #127 | BATTLESYSTEM: How far can an elf or other woodland
creature see in woods? | | Page 21 of the rules says that elves and
other woodland creatures can see and cast
spells up to 6 away. Other creatures are
limited to 1. |
382. | DR123 | Dragon #123 | D&D® Expert Set : The combat charts on page 29 of
the Expert Rulebook show saving
throws different from what the
individual character listings show.
Which is correct? | | Page 29 is correct. |
383. | DR127 | Dragon #127 | BATTLESYSTEM: What are the battlefield effects of
infravision and ultravision? Which
monsters have these abilities | | Page 59 of the Dungeon Masters Guide
gives the effects of infravision and ultravision
outdoors. Most subterranean monsters
and humanoids are assumed to have
infravision, even if not otherwise noted.
Most demi-humans also have infravision;
see the individual character race descriptions
and monster descriptions. Ultravision
is a rare ability; see the individual monster
descriptions to determine if a creature has
ultravision. Some Lake Geneva campaigns
gift dragons with ultravision, since they
can see equally well in daylight or darkness
(Monster Manual, page 29). |
384. | DR121 | Dragon #121 | Oriental Adventures : Page 22 of Oriental Adventures
seems to indicate that a samurai can
specialize with a katana using only
one slot. Does this special ability
also apply to the daikyu?
| | Paragraph two, page 22, is misleading.
The samurai uses two slots when specializing
with the katana, and must use three
when specializing with the daikyu. |
385. | DR129 | Dragon #129 | Are creatures that are immune to
normal weapons also immune to
paralysis? Are undead monsters
immune to paralysis? | | Paralysis can effect any creature that
fails its saving throw against it. |
386. | DR126 | Dragon #126 | I have two players who are always
getting into arguments during
games. They argue about rules, treasure
splits, mapping you name it.
Needless to say, witnessing these
arguments is not fun for me or my
other players. What should I do? | | Players who argue a lot probably
shouldnt play together. If this isnt feasible,
start dealing with the problem before
the game begins. Tell the players ahead of
time that you dont want them to fight.
During the game, try to shut the players
up before an argument starts. Try to anticipate
what the argument will be about,
and make a ruling on it, then make both
players stick to it.
After the game, explain to the players
that their fighting is spoiling the game for
everyone else. If the two players just dont
like each other, they have to be made to
understand that you the DM wont
tolerate personal arguments during the
game. When they argue about the rules,
make them understand that you the DM
make decisions about the rules. |
387. | DR131 | Dragon #131 | Will a monster join a character
party if invited? | | Possibly, if its reaction is favorable and it
has something to gain from joining the
party. An evil monster might join in order
to get an opportunity to turn on a party
unexpectedly. |
388. | DR132 | Dragon #132 | BATTLESYSTEM™: Will flying over a woods negate
the sighting penalties as described
on page 21 of the rule book? | | Probably not. A flying creature not in
woodlands can sight and cast spells in a 1”
radius centered directly below the figure.
Elves and other woodland creatures can
sight and cast spells within a 6” radius. A
woods made up of leafless trees or conifers
might be more transparent to aerial
viewing; this should be decided before the
game starts. |
389. | DR031 | Dragon #31 | When will Q1, QUEEN OF THE DEMONWEB
PITS, be released? I am really looking forward to playing in it. | | Q1 is being written by Dave Sutherland, TSR’s Art Director.
Dave has a lot of demands on his time and is working on it as often
as he can. We are very short-handed in the Art Dept. and I cannot say
when Q1 will be ready for release. |
